DAV, i.e. Dayanand Anglo Vedic was a movement that began in 1886, three years after the demise of Swami Dayanand Saraswati. It was a true tribute to the great Yogi whose key endeavour was to build a knowledge-driven society based on Vedic principles.
Over the years, various social workers influenced by the Arya Samaj, have started schools (with or without formally naming it as ‘DAV’) across the country with the objective of providing high quality, affordable and more importantly value based education to children. Most of these schools offer the CBSE / State Board / ICSE curriculum.
The list below enumerates the ‘Group’ of schools or standalone ‘Individual’ schools, being run by an independent Trust / Society across the country that follow and inculcate amongst children the Vedic principles as promoted by the Arya Samaj.
Note: Unfortunately, there are a few Trusts / Society that have named their schools as DAV, only to capitalize on the brand name, but do not adhere to the Arya Samaj philosophy. They have not been included below.
